Evelyn Griffith is an emerging author writing from Norfolk, Virginia where she is pursuing her MFA in fiction at Old Dominion University. She is currently writing a Middle Grade Fantasy Novel. When she's not writing, Evelyn is the managing editor of ODU’s literary magazine the Barely South Review. In her spare time she enjoys singing, running, and reading!

My current position is Managing Editor of the Barely South Review. I am responsible for all managerial aspects of the literary magazine, as well as developing our issue concepts and brand.
For this position, my responsibility is to review manuscripts and deliver those reviews to my senior editor who then uses them to pitch an editing plan to the author.
Managed a team who together produced a completed yearly issue of student works from across the country, completing tasks including social media management, copy editing, line editing, author-publisher communication, reading hundreds of submissions, and communication with the printers.

Future Projects
I'm very excited to be working on what I hope to be my debut fantasy novel. Currently entitled The Singing String. This middle grade fantasy novel explores what it's like to be at war against the evils that try to take over your world.
I am also working on a short story collection (yet to be titled)!
